The Crypt was a moving experience created by a team of multidisciplinary friends and artists in 2019. Participants entered through a Puragtory-themed space strewn with paperwork, flickering lights, a DMV style orientation video, and an attendant in a suit who would let you know when it was your turn to cross over. On the other side, participants entered a room decorated to look like the banks of a mystical river. There, they were invited to take a ride in a wooden gondola where they listened to a guided visualization about floating down a river after death. On the other side of the boat ride, participants were greeted by grief facilitators and were welcome to make themselves at home in the lounge space, interact with the altar, or be in community with the facilitators and the other participants who had gone through the journey.
